Drugs and Alcohol Mental Health Team (Step 3 CAMHS)

The Drugs and Alcohol Mental Health Team supports children and young people who are struggling with both substance use (drugs or alcohol) and mental health difficulties. This is sometimes called a dual diagnosis.

The Team provides assessment and intervention.

We work closely with young people and their families to:

  • Help reduce or stop drug and alcohol use
  • Improve mental health and wellbeing
  • Provide practical advice and therapeutic support

We use proven, evidence-based approaches and work in partnership with families and carers to achieve the best outcomes.

We also support other professionals by offering advice and guidance, both within CAMHS and in the wider community.

Our aim is to provide a safe, accessible and supportive service for those who need specialist help with drugs, alcohol and mental health.
