Direct voice therapy exercises

This section features a series of guided videos demonstrating voice therapy exercises you can practice at home.

These resources have been created to support your therapy and act as a helpful reminder of the techniques recommended by your Speech and Language Therapist. Please only use these exercises if you have been advised to do so by your therapist.

If you have been experiencing a voice problem for more than three weeks, we strongly recommend contacting your GP for assessment.

Releasing muscle tension

The following exercises are designed to help reduce muscle tension that can cause tightness or strain in the voice box (larynx).

Your Speech and Language Therapist will advise which exercises are most appropriate for you—please follow their guidance for best results.
