Our Midwifery-Led Unit offers a calm, homely environment for women with straightforward pregnancies who wish to give birth with midwife-led care. Located within Antrim Area Hospital, the unit combines a relaxed birth setting with immediate access to specialist medical assistance if required.
The new unit includes:
- Three private birthing rooms
- An en-suite bathroom in each room
- A birthing pool in every room to support labour and birth
- A calm, comfortable and family-friendly environment
- Space and equipment to help you stay mobile and try different labour positions
The Midwifery-Led Unit has its own entrance, making it easy for you and your birth partner to access.
The unit is directly connected to the main hospital. This means that if you or your baby need extra medical support at any stage, there is quick access to obstetric teams, theatres and neonatal care.
