There is a maternity unit in both Antrim and Causeway Hospital. At both of our inpatient facilities there is a team of doctors, midwives and support staff who will provide care which is tailored to meet the needs of the women and their families who use our maternity service. There is also a dedicated team of community midwives who will provide a full range of midwifery care to women who live within the Northern Trust.

Temporary arrangements during Covid-19 Pandemic

Due to changes in paediatric cover all inpatient maternity services (from Thursday 9 April), are being provided at Antrim Area Hospital.  This includes any unscheduled attendances for pregnancy concerns, for labour and birth (this includes caesarean sections) and postnatal stay.

The Causeway Maternity Unit will continue to provide outpatient antenatal care Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. Community midwifery across the Trust continues in the antenatal and postnatal period.
