Day Care Centres

Day centres offer services to older people and those who have mental health issues, physical disabilities and/or learning disabilities. They focus on short-term reablement programmes, alongside carer support. The emphasis is on helping people maintain a level of independence.

The level of service provided in our day centres is based on an assessment of each individual’s needs. Attendance at day centres is time limited and is reviewed on a regular basis. Trust day centres are subject to registration and inspection by the Regulation and Quality Improvement Inspection Authority RQIA.

How would I normally access this service?

If an individual or their carer/relative believes they need day care they can contact their nearest social services office or can access an assessment through their health and social care staff member involved in their care, or through their GP.
