My Pay and My Work

Pay Bands in Health and Social Care

As part of a national framework of Terms & Conditions (known as ‘Agenda of Change’), the majority of HSC posts are ‘banded’ depending on the tasks required and level of responsibility across a number of core and specific dimensions. Details of current pay bands can be found at Pay Bands in Health & Social Care – HSCNI Jobs

Understanding my Pay Slip

An important part of all of our working lives is making sure we understand our pay slip. As a member of our staff you will have access to the Payroll Service Centre site that will answer your Frequently Asked Questions about pay and who to contact if you have a query.

My Pension

Our pension scheme is one of the most important elements of the financial package we offer and as a member of our Trust  you will be automatically enrolled.

All staff can join the Health and Social Care Pension Scheme where two thirds of the amount is contributed by the Trust.  This offers the following:

  • A pension and tax free lump sum on retirement
  • Life insurance cover
  • Voluntary early retirement
  • Ill-health retirement benefits
  • Redundancy benefits
  • Family benefits
  • Options to give up some of the annual pension for an additional lump sum

Employers contributions to the scheme are 22.5% and staff contribute from 5% to 14.5 % depending on their salary.

HM Revenue and Customs

As a reminder, your tax is unique to you, so it is important to understand it. That’s why we’ve provided a link to the HMRC website
