Acute Physiotherapy Service (Inpatient service)

This is an inpatient physiotherapy service which includes the following areas:

• Surgical
• Medical
• Paediatrics
• Gynaecology
• Maternity
• Intensive Care Unit
• Medical Assessment Units
• Oncology
• Rheumatology
• Emergency Department
• Rehabilitation Wards (which include neurology)

The service is delivered from 8.30am – 5.00pm (Monday – Friday).

There is an on-call service, 24/7, in Causeway Hospital and Antrim Area Hospital for emergency respiratory patients. This service can be only accessed after medical staff have assessed the patient and they are likely to deteriorate without physiotherapy intervention.

There is also a limited 7 day physiotherapy service to help facilitate suitable patients to be discharged at the weekend on Antrim site.
